If you’re wanting relaxation and charm in Marco Island, then the Club Regency of Marco Island hotel is definitely for you.
This Hilton Grand Vacation Club managed resort has just what you need to enjoy this west Gulf coast long sandy beach.
We’ve recently enjoyed a week in Naples and it was absolutely the most beautiful place in Florida. It has such amazing scenery and a beautiful location. If you haven’t checked out that review, I seriously urge you to do so!
While we were there, we’ve learned from locals that if we loved Naples, then we had to check out Marco Island.
Being the travel savages that we are, just in a matter of 4 weeks we booked! Yes, we were able to snag a deal right in Marco Island at the gorgeous Club Regency Resort.
We heard so many great things about Marco Island and seriously needed to check it out for ourselves.
Therefore, we chose Club Regency of Marco Island mainly because everything else was booked up. Yes, this is true! Especially because all of the resorts here in Marco Island just opened back up at the end of May due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
However, we have also picked this resort because it is situated along 3 miles of sandy private beach on the Gulf of Mexico. Between the location and luxurious rooms, we knew that this was the perfect place for our family.
This resort is located around some of Florida’s best restaurants and has two nearby championships golf courses. Marco Island is home to some of Florida’s best beaches. There are two local grocery stores just a mile down the road from this location. There’s also a movie theater across the street in the shopping plaza. There are many local attractions and entertainment in this area. At the same time, it is so peaceful and quiet. Therefore, with a doubt literally there’s isn’t a better location then this hidden Gem.
Club Regency of Marco Island
This resort is the only two-story hotel here on Marco Island. Situated around it are tall high risers on each side. This resort is located just steps away from the beach. There’s private beach access that is secured that allows you to go and come.
There are beach chairs and umbrella rentals directly on the beach. The prices varied depending on your rental. Typically, the average rate was $35 for two chairs and an umbrella. You can reserve your beach chairs as early as 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.
The beach is absolutely amazing. Literally miles of white sandy beach. Not overcrowded, just enough people where you could spread out and feel comfortable. From the beach, you could see miles of high risers surrounding the ocean.
Club Regency Condos
Club Regency of Marco Island is a quiet gem to many. It is literally tucked away in the back on the Gulf coast.
Checking into this resort was pretty standard. The front desk receptionist did have on a mask and requested that families stay outside while others were checking in. The resort implemented a new rule where they were only checking in one family at a time. I thought this is pretty standard given the situation with the pandemic. After checking in we were able to get our beach and pool towels.
The resort does not have any resort fees or parking fees. The resort does provide free Wi-Fi in the unit and at the pool area. Let me tell you, the WiFi was excellent because they provided both a private modem and a router in each unit.
The resort does take a $150 deposit that is refunded once checked out. This resort is not large and does not provide any housekeeping services. Please note that the front desk receptionist leaves at 6:00 pm. Therefore, it’s best to try to check in before then. Check-in starts at 3:00 pm and check-out is at 10:00 am. If you are arriving after 6:00 pm, the front desk receptionist will place your room key in the safe dropbox and leave you a password to get in.
This resort has 2 bedroom villas and condos that are all recently renovated with new stainless steel appliances. Each condo comes with a parking garage.
There are 8 condos that have ocean views, while the majority of the condos have pool views.
We stayed in a pool view condo that overlooked the courtyard area.
Immediately upon arriving at our condo, I noticed the “just cleaned and sanitized” note on the door. This was the first time I saw a resort go out of their way and put this on the door.
Condo Overview
Once we walked into the condo, we walked directly into the living room area. The area was bright and open. The living room included a TV, TV stand, a large sofa with a pull out bed, two large wicker chairs with comfortable pillows, and cushions.
Patio and Lanai
Directly off of the living room and dining area was an enclosed patio. The patio was conveniently screened in. I truly appreciated this because of Florida’s summer bugs. The patio was furnished with beautiful comfy patio furniture which made it great for outdoor lounging.
Kitchen & Dining Room Area
There was a full-size dining table with four chairs. I love the decor and layout. The kitchen was off of the dining area and included beautiful cabinetry and granite countertops. There was a beautiful backsplash in the kitchen.
The stainless steel appliances stood out to me immediately. The dishwasher was slightly open, with a full set of clean dishes inside. Housekeeping had filled the dishwasher and cleaned it prior to us checking in. I’ve learned that this was a standard precaution to ensure that everything was thoroughly clean and sanitized. First and foremost, this refrigerator was one of the largest refrigerators I’ve seen in condos.
The Bedrooms
Finally, onto the bedrooms. The bedrooms were large and inviting. The master suite included a king bed, TV, stand and dresser, nightstand tables, and a medium-size master bathroom. The bathroom included a standard shower, sink, and toilet.
The second bedroom was arranged as a kid’s room. It included two twin beds, a TV, a dresser, one nightstand, and a closet. The room was great for my children. However, it probably would have been a bit small for two adults.
Directly, adjacent to the bedrooms was the 2nd bathroom. Again, it was a standard bathroom with a shower and tub combination. The bathrooms come fully stocked with complimentary toiletries. If more toiletries are needed, the front desk will provide replacements.
Club Regency Pool and Grill Area
Club Regency of Marco Island has a pool and hot tub. The area has plenty of pool chairs and tables with umbrellas. There are also 3 gas grills with utensils that are available for use near the pool area. There are pool restrooms made available in the pool area. There is also an indoor dining room for families. The dining room included chairs and tables, a refrigerator, and an ice maker as well. This was great for outdoor entertainment.
Typically, this resort has many social gatherings such as mixers. However, due to the pandemic, social gatherings have been canceled until further notice.
The Ultimate Takeaway
This resort is by far the most family-oriented resort I’ve been to. Most of the owners at this resort have families that have owned here for many years. Everyone we greeted was friendly. They spoke and introduce themselves to us. It was an amazing experience to chat with them and learn about the history of this resort. They all shared childhood memories from growing up visiting this resort. I can not express it enough how friendly everyone was.
Important Information Before You Travel
Before you visit this wonderful resort, there are just a few important details that you may want to consider.
This resort does not have a restaurant. However, there are plenty of restaurants and bars in the area. This resort does not have washers and dryers in each unit. However, this resort does have washers and dryers on the third floor of the buildings. The cost per load to wash and dry your clothes is $2.
The beach chairs can be rented by the day or by the week directly from the beach attendants.
This is a Resort where you can truly come and relax. Nevertheless, you can seriously escape from the world visiting this place. There aren’t any on-site activities available at this time. Therefore you want to come prepared and bring items especially if traveling with children.
Things To Bring To Marco Island
Being that most of our day was going to be spent at the beach, I was very particular in wanting to make sure that my children were well prepared. Personally, I don’t like going to the beach without having beach toys. My children can make a day playing in the sand. However, they need some stuff to keep them occupied while I sunbathe. Therefore, we ordered our supplies directly from Amazon just in time for our trip. Check out some of the things that we feel were the most essential.
How To Book This Resort
Finally, this resort can be booked directly by visiting the Hilton Grand Vacations Club website. This place usually gets booked up pretty quickly. You may also check out rentals from owners renting their weeks out.
For the most part, if you’re visiting Marco Island and have any questions or concerns, please leave a comment and I’ll be sure to get back to you. Also, if I missed anything, please feel free to reach out and let me know.
