This post is sponsored by Legoland Florida however, all of the opinions are my own.
Creating memories as a family is what we Henrys’ are all about!
Our Legoland Florida Experience
Legoland Florida it’s such an amazing theme park in the Orlando area. It’s quite different from the other theme parks in Orlando. We enjoyed celebrating Legoland Florida’s 10th birthday!
Visiting Legoland Florida For The First Time
If you’re considering visiting Legoland Florida, here are some of my suggestions to be sure that your experience is the best.
For starters, Legoland is located and Winter Haven, Florida. Technically it’s about an hour from Orlando. Therefore, be sure to give yourself enough commute time if you are planning to visit the other theme parks in Orlando.Â
We definitely did not expect this our first time visiting. We traveled from Jacksonville, Florida and it took us about 5 hours to get there because of traffic as well. Therefore, I truly recommend that you plan out your day and travel commute.
Upon Arriving At Legoland Florida
I was pretty impressed with Legoland Florida’s hotel. They have two hotel buildings, Legoland Hotel in Legoland Pirate Island Hotel. The difference between the two is that the newest Legoland Pirate Island Hotel is more economical for families whereas Legoland Hotel has suites and other large room accommodations.
We originally had reservations at the Legoland Pirate Island hotel however, due to our family size the room accommodations were not a good fit. Therefore, we were moved to a suite over in the Legoland Hotel. Therefore if you had a large family like myself, be sure to double-check your accommodations.
I was pretty impressed by the suite that we were moved to. The two-bedroom suite was very accommodating and beautiful.
One bedroom had a king bed, and the other had two bunk beds. There was also a living room area that was separate from the two bedrooms. There was truly enough space for everyone. There was also a balcony that overlooked the pool and miniature golf course.
The property was absolutely gorgeous. It was filled with Legos everywhere. This property was straight up accommodating for both parents and children alike. As I looked around to see, everyone was having a great time. The children with definitely being entertained by all of the different shows that were available.
Legoland Hotel Activities
There are so many activities that are made available. However, you do have to make reservations. Be sure to do so as soon as possible because reservations book up pretty fast. I truly admire how entertaining my children were kept.
Dining At Legoland Florida
Lego land has some amazing restaurants. We were able to enjoy both breakfast and dinner family-style at Shipwreck restaurant which is located in the Legoland Pirate Hotel. Reservations are required and it is only open to guests actually staying at the resort.
Both breakfast and dinner were absolutely phenomenal. We had amazing service and enjoyed our experience eating family-style all you can eat. It was quite an experience. I truly recommend you check it out.
We totally missed out on the opportunity to try the famous apple fries at Legoland but we will do so during our next visit.
Legoland Florida Theme Park
The theme park opens at 10 AM and closes at 5 PM. I thought the hours were pretty short so just keep this in mind. It is a cashless park, there be sure to carry a card. Legoland Florida’s theme park is pretty big. I wouldn’t say that is as big as Walt Disney World but it’s big enough. Therefore, I truly recommend you dress comfortably.Â
Be sure to have on the proper shoes because it does require a lot of walking. I truly recommend you bring a stroller if you have any younger children or tall earth.
Of course, we have busy Austin and a stroller was absolutely necessary. Be sure to pack all of your necessities such as snacks, diapers, wipes, sunscreen, and plenty of water to stay cool if traveling in the summer months.
Legoland Florida’s Waterpark
If you are planning to visit the water park area be sure to bring your bathing suits and pool towels. Unfortunately, we ran out of time and weren’t able to experience the waterpark.
You can purchase your tickets digitally and once the park opens, you’ll be able to scan them on your mobile device. Once you do so, they will then give you a wristband that you were aware of all day. The same thing applies to parking as well. I believe that parking was $25 and preferred parking is $33. However, overnight guests have free parking included.Â
Legoland Florida Overall Experience & Final Thoughts
My family and I truly enjoyed our experience at Legoland. There was so much to do at the theme park. However, I didn’t feel as though the theme park was overcrowded.
It gives you a different feeling compared to the Disney resorts. My children were able to ride a couple of rides several times without having to wait in extremely long lines.
I feel as though Legoland caters to both children and parents equally. There was a ton of things to do at the theme park. We had such a great time exploring and creating memories together.
If you’re considering this theme park during your visit to Florida I truly recommend it. Trust me, it’s definitely less intimidating than the other larger theme parks.
