Traveling and vacationing is something that we dreamed of growing up as children. Once we became adults, we vowed that we would vacation no matter what.

Being that we didn’t travel much at all as children we weren’t accustomed to the fact that having a vacation life requires a commit and money to fund that kind of lifestyle. However, money wasn’t the only commitment, time and research was also a requirement. We realized that if we wanted more than we needed to do more.

It wasn’t until a couple of years later, that we began vacationing as a family. We started from humble beginnings, taking overnight and weekend trips. Due to our time restrictions, we couldn’t afford to travel more than this.

Our finances and our schedules played a major role in our availability to travel. We both had very limited schedules while working and attending college. Therefore, we had to work with what we had given our circumstances. We had to strategize and use our resources wisely. We became very resourceful, especially because we were serious about making traveling part of our lifestyle.

So, instead of shopping and buying unnecessary clothes and materialistic items from retailors we began traveling with our young family. We wanted to create memories that our children would cherish forever. We realized that there were benefits to traveling.

We understood the fact that children who travel and gain new experiences are well balanced. They acquire a different understanding of life with the hands-on experience they receive from traveling. For example, our children would meet new friends from different countries. Friends that were from the other side of the earth. Our children would learn from them and vice versa. Our children learned how to be more accepting of others that don’t typically look like them.

It was there that I realized that I needed to continue to learn how I could make traveling part of our life. I began seeking different opportunities to talk to different parents about their travel lifestyle. I began asking questions and received diverse perspectives. There, I began utilizing the wealth of information I received and began conducting my own research.

After doing some research together, we began figuring out what we wanted for our family and the kind of lifestyle we wanted to live. We then realized that we had to open our minds up to different things. When I say different things, I mean just that. We began looking into different resources that would reward us with travel incentives. Travel incentives are basically traveling rewards such as free hotel stays and discounted flight tickets etc. I immediately found that certain credit cards offered different travel rewards.

I came across the Chase Freedom credit card. This was my very first credit card that offered a great travel reward bonus. For example, this card offered. You can look into this card if you are interested in getting started with traveling and gaining some rewards that can be used towards flights, hotels, gift cards, gas cards and much more. I began using this card immediately. I learned to use my credit cards like debit cards. What does this mean? I began buying everything I would normally purchase with my debit card but with my new credit card.

Everything such as gas, cell phone bill, internet and cable, utility bill, security system bill, grocery bill, my children’s extracurricular activities such as gymnastics and football. Basically EVERYTHING, you would normally purchase every month. We began charging all of this on our credit card and then paid it off entirely once the statement came in the mail. I mean, we did this, and our bonus point racked up tremendously.

We began immediately utilizing our reward points towards overnight stays at hotels. We then used it for free flight tickets and all. I mean you can not go wrong with having a credit that offers reward points. However, it’s important to check out their bonus sign-on. Many credit card companies have bonus sign-on incentives however, I haven’t seen any like what Chase offers.

Another great credit card that we use that has fantastic rewards with a great sign-on bonus is the Chase Sapphire credit card. After I used my bonus on the Chase Freedom, I began looking into other credit cards because again, I like the rewards. I use credit cards for the rewards and benefits that are offered. I don’t use credit cards to go on shopping sprees or anything. Again, I use them strictly as a debit card. Therefore, I always look for the best ones. Yes, I do my research to seek out the best one for my family based on our needs. I like credit cards that offer travel incentives. Basically, anything that can offset our travel cost and give us free accommodations.

The Chase Sapphire credit card gave a bit more incentives and their earning criteria were better, in my opinion. You could earn 60,000 bonus points after you spend $4,000 on purchases in the first 3 months from account opening- that’s $750 towards airfare or hotels when you redeem through Chase Ultimate Rewards®. Both credit cards are great however, this card gives more for the same requirements. However, this credit card does have an annual fee of $95. This is the only downside of it. Yes, the earnings per dollar spent and the travel insurance that is offered on every travel that is booked using this credit card outweighs the $95 annual fee for me. Again, you will have to decide if this is something that you want. In my honest opinion, it’s worth every cent.

To sum it all up, I want you to know that you can acquire the travel lifestyle that you want to have and more. Don’t limit your wants based on what others have. The God that we serve is so powerful and merciful. He is able to do exceedingly, abundantly, above all that we can ask or think, according to the power that works in us. God has a plan over our life and his plan is of hope and prosperity. His plan is not to hurt us or harm us. Therefore, seek first his kingdom and all of his righteousness and I promise you; all of the things that you are seeking and lusting after will just be added onto you.
