Spread the love

It’s absolutely true, we cannot get enough of the beach vacations. It’s not even summertime yet, and we have been on five beach vacations thus far. We started our year off and went to Miami Beach, Daytona Beach, Ormond Beach, Vanderbilt Beach in Naples, and now West Palm Beach. We usually visit Jacksonville beach when we’re home and not vacationing but that’s not too often. Our family loves to explore beaches throughout Florida and we’re on a mission to tell you all about them.

West Palm Beach Dining

First, and foremost, the thing that attracted us to West Palm Beach was the neighborhoods of downtown. They are known for their cafés, busy bars, and shopping district. Immediately after we checked into our hotel, we searched for dining options. We were so excited that restaurants were open after the pandemic crisis. The first place we decided to go to was Johnny Longboats. This is an Italian seafood and sushi restaurant that offer a wide selection of fresh catch fish and other seafood dishes. This is a pretty popular place in the Riviera Beach area which is right outside of West Palm Beach. The food was great and flavorful. They offer a happy hour special every day from 2 to 6.

West Palm Beach Outlets

Many people love West Palm Beach for their bargain shopping adventures at the Palm Beach Outlets. The outlet is filled with big-time store brands such as Saks Fifth Avenue off 5th, Nike, Vera Bradley, and many more designer brands. Downtown West Palm Beach district is very luxurious with tall Palm trees and entertainment on every corner. In this area, you can also find Target if you’re in need of some great matching bathing suits and clothes.

West Palm Beach Shopping

Shopping On Worth Avenue

If you’re looking to shop then you have to go to the world-renowned, the most upscale shopping district in America. Yes, “The Rodeo Drive of Florida.” This area includes all of the designer boutiques you can think of such as Louis Vuitton, Chanel, Gucci, Jimmy Choo, Valentino, and tons of other high priced designers. There are also many upscale restaurants in this area for when you grow an appetite after all of that shopping.

Family Things To Do In West Palm Beach

West palm beach is also known for its family fun. They have an amazing Palm Beach Zoo and Conservation Society. Many people love the South Florida science center and aquarium for more close-up animal encounters as well as hands-on learning experiences.

Family Beach Day, Everyday

We stayed at Palm Beach Shores Resort & Vacation Villas which is on Singer Island. Therefore, since we had the liberty to stay directly on the beach with the ocean being only steps away it’s safe to say that every day was a beach day.

The water was the bluest I’ve ever seen the Atlantic ocean be. It was so clear, literally, I was able to see the bottom clearly while standing from afar. The sugary white sand felt like it kissed our toes every time. It was definitely peaceful and beautiful each morning going for our family walks alongside the ocean.

Awesomely Beautiful Beach

Soak up the West Palm Beach Sun

The beaches of West Palm Beach are absolutely gorgeous. We immediately fell in love with the crisp blue water. The water was warm and absolutely everything we dreamed it would be. The sun shines directly on all of the open space of the beach. Take time to soak up the sun. Definitely bring your sunscreen for an amazing day of beach fun.

Boogie Body Board Beach Surfing

Our children stayed in the water. We ordered our boogie boards from Amazon and I am so glad we did because Target only had the large ones for adults. Our children stayed on the boards the entire vacation and had a blast. The waves were awesome. They had great fun surfing over the waves. I enjoyed watching them, it didn’t seem like they were getting tired at all.

Family Fitness at the Beach

Work out at the beach and burn some calories! My husband is so committed to fitness and I just think it’s awesome. Many of you know that he is a personal fitness trainer and any chance that he gets to work out, he does. He takes all advantage of every opportunity to do some push-ups and some sprints. I just love it, because my children imitate him and join in on the family fitness every time. I sat back and watched as he and our boys worked out on the beach.

Beach Family Fun

West Palm Beach Kite Flying

Who doesn’t love kite flying? The beach was a great opportunity for us to fly our kites. We always promise to fly our kites at the beach therefore, this time we kept our word and did!

Therefore, we were prepared and bought some relatively inexpensive kites from Amazon and made a day out of it.

Our children had an awesome time learning how to fly their kites. The best part for them was learning how to keep the kites up in the air. What a great experience it was keeping their activities frugal. I loved watching my children create new memories however, I love staying frugal at the same time. Therefore, it was a win-win.

Seashell Beach Exploring

My children are so creative. I just love how creative they are at times. They decided that they would explore the beach for the most distinguished-looking seashells to collect. After they gathered what seemed like a hundred seashells, they decided that they would build sandcastles and decorate them with the seashells as the windows. Then they decided to clean each seashell and take them home to make ocean jewelry to sell online. I thought this was pretty darn clever of them to do this.

Things to Consider Before Visiting West Palm Beach:

As the country is still recovering from the recent Covid-19 pandemic, many establishments are just now re-opening and have different restrictions as they gradually phase through. Therefore, our family was excited to visit the beach and enjoy some family beach fun. If you’re looking to do more than this, I highly suggest you contact the city prior to traveling.

Once we arrived in West Palm Beach, Florida directly off of the highway we entered into the residential area of Singer Island. Immediately, it looked different compared to any other beach location. It’s safe to say that West Palm Beach’s appearance didn’t quite excite me whatsoever. It looked rough and at first, I didn’t know how to take it. There were some abandoned buildings and lots of people hanging around the gas stations.
However, luckily, I didn’t panic because once we arrived at our hotel we were thoroughly excited. Later, I found that directly off of the highway we entered into the Riviera city of West Palm Beach. There is a lot of Community redevelopment that is actually taking place in this area now.
