We were looking for a quick weekend getaway and we chose to visit the new JW Marriott Savannah Plant Riverside District. This was less than a 2-hour drive away from Jacksonville.
JW Marriott Savannah First Impression
My first impression of the JW Marriott Savannah was absolutely incredible. I was amazed at the architect and the design altogether. The hotel is comprised of three buildings that incorporate 3 totally different decor and styles.Â
There are over 300 pet-friendly rooms, as well as 45 suites throughout the three buildings. We stayed in the Three Muses building in a connecting room. We had a king suite and two double Queen beds. The layout of the suites was absolutely beautiful. I fell in love immediately with the decor. The bathrooms were luxurious with bathrobes, toiletries, as well as a hairdryer.Â
Dining Options At The JW Marriott Savannah
In the morning we went down and enjoyed breakfast at Turbine Market, which is one of their restaurants onsite. The Turbine Market is more like a café that serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
For lunch and dinner, we enjoyed pizza at amazing the Graffito. Amongst the rest of the dining options, this one was the most family-oriented. The pizza was reasonably priced and not overly expensive.
Savannah’s New Riverfront
We enjoyed walking around and sightseeing while we were there. We visited Byrd’s Famous cookies which is native to Savannah Georgia. Every time we’re in Savannah we always make it our business to visit there.Â
Things to know before visiting the JW Marriott Savannah
The Plant Riverside District is considered to be Savannah’s new Riverfront. There is live music, fine dining, as well as adventure along with a scenic view. This hotel is located in the heart of historic Savannah. There are several activities just within walking distance. You can explore downtown Savannah and browse the nearby art gallery.Â
With that being said, the hotel does offer valet parking for $45 a day. However, if you are not driving there are other public transportation such as the nearby buses and ride-sharing like Uber and Lyft.
I honestly would like to go back without our children, so that we can experience more of the adult-friendly activities and dining experience.Â
